The Band
When Stuart left The Odds in early May 1982, the band replaced him with Mark (synths) in June as they looked to “modernise” their sound. This new sound led them to rename the band at which point, Col left to pursue a life outside of music: he was replaced by Jez and the line-up of Moscow was finalised. Determined to take a new direction, a re-write of their set was required (all except the song, Martin), and quickly, because their gig diary was already full. Their live performances took on a more dramatic feel led by a huge range of synth sounds, funky guitar, tight drumming and bass underpinning melodies that stuck, often with anthemic choruses.
